Northeastern offers four Master of Arts programs through its Counselor Education Department:
- •&Բ;Clinical Mental Health Counseling
- • Couple and Family Counseling
- •&Բ;Rehabilitation Counseling
- •&Բ;School Counseling
Graduates of the Clinical Mental Health, Couple and Family, Rehabilitation, and School Counseling programs are eligible to apply for and receive Illinois licensure as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) or Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC). Couple and Family Counseling graduates are automatic members of the Associate Marriage and Family Therapy license (AMFT) upon graduation and after submission of application. Rehabilitation Counseling graduates qualify to obtain national certification as a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor.
Our Accreditations
Our Counseling degree programs are fully accredited by the Council for the Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs. In addition, the Daniel L. Goodwin College of Education and Counselor Education Department are accredited by the Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation. Accreditations provide students with an official assurance of quality within the program.
