The Jacob H. Carruthers Center for Inner City Studies (CCICS) is a center of higher education and community engagement in Chicago's South Side Bronzeville neighborhood. We at CCICS believe that a substantial education contributes to community development and any educational institute benefits from community engagement. For decades, CCICS has been a place of social activism and intellectual thought where several important historical figures have done work in.

With your contributions to CCICS students at NEIU, you will support students to pay tuition to further advance their education, further our efforts for community-building with nearby high schools, community organizations, and city leaders, and provide various opportunities for personal and professional growth.

Whether you donate $20 or $1,000, you automatically become part of the solution. Join us on our mission to put higher education back on the agenda.

The Jacob H. Carruthers Center for Inner City Studies demonstrates 91Porn’s urban tradition of education, research and service. The Carruthers Center offers an undergraduate and graduate degree in Urban Community Studies to prepare students to act upon the expressed interests, with full inclusivity, of all the residents of Chicago and to participate fully in the richness of the African and African-American cultures.
