Stress Free Zone

With the weight of finals looming, it's hard to focus on studying when you're also grappling with the pressure of world events, political tensions, and personal challenges that seem to pile on every day. Come take a break during our Stress Free Zone events! The University community has come together to offer you multiple ways to relax and recharge before the semester ends. Join us for art activities, games, food and a spa day!

Student Health Ambassadors

The Student Health Ambassador (SHA) program was developed by NEIU’s Office of Student Health Services to improve health equity and remove barriers to educational attainment at NEIU. SHAs are trained to assist their peers in accessing university and community resources, engage in outreach, education, social support and advocacy. The program is a collaboration with the to address emerging public health issues by providing students with training, mentoring and practical experience. The program’s mission is to equip SHAs with entry-level community health skills and a vision of fostering an educational environment where every student can thrive academically and socially. The program upholds values of empowerment, equity, diversity and inclusion, social justice, integrity, and altruism.

student Health Services Wellness kiosks

Our wellness kiosks are both located on the north campus. They can be found down the ramp in the village square and on the sixth floor of the student housing. The kiosks are available to registered NEIU students while buildings are open. 

Both kiosks provide the following items:

  • Condoms
  • Morning After Pills
  • Lubricant
  • NARCAN
  • Fentanyl test strips
  • Female Sanitary Pads

Morning after pills are priced at $5. All other items in the kiosks are available at no cost for students. Please note that the wellness kiosks only accept cash and only in the form of $1 and $5 bills. They do not dispense change. Please contact the El Centro and Carruthers Center to receive items at those campuses.

Students can visit the Office of Student Health Services on the Main Campus Room E 051 for convenient immunizations.
