PC Prep is housed in the College of Arts and Sciences under the Department of World Languages and Cultures; however, the program spans all colleges and departments across the University.

Join PC Prep

PC Prep program participants will be required to:

Take a total of three courses in one of six specific work sectors (Courses can be part of a student's major or minor, but do not need to be.)
- Education
- Health
- Environment
- Agriculture
- Youth Development
- Community Economic Development
Complete a minimum of 50 hours of volunteer or work experience in their same sector, preferably in a teaching or outreach capacity
Complete a foreign language requirement (Minimum course requirements vary by desired placement region.)
Develop intercultural competence through coursework (three approved courses) or through a combination of coursework and substantive intercultural experience
Complete professional and leadership development
- Create a resume and have it critiqued by Career Development
- Attend a Career Development workshop or class on interview skills
- Develop at least one significant leadership experience and be able to discuss the event thoughtfully (Examples: Organize a campus event, lead a work or volunteer project, serve on the executive board of a student organization)

How can you prepare yourself to be an agent of change and make a difference in the world? Answering that question is the focus of the Peace Corps Prep program (PC Prep) at 91Porn. As the only college or university in Chicago to offer this unique certificate program, and because Northeastern understands the impact this certificate can have on students and communities, undergraduate students of any program at our University are able to apply to PC Prep.

What is PC Prep?

The PC Prep program prepares students for international development fieldwork and potential Peace Corps service. To accomplish this, students will build four core competencies through interrelated coursework, hands-on experience and professional development support. The four competencies are:

Training and experience in a work sector
Foreign language skills
Intercultural competence
Professional and leadership development

Through participation in the PC Prep program, students:

Integrate academic work with practical experiences and professional development
