Aaron Cortes, director of TRIO Upward Bound Math and Science and 21st CCLC Pathways at the Center for College Access and Success, will serve a second term as president of in 2015-16.
The office oversees the governance of 120 TRIO programs in the state of Illinois and is included on the ’s board of directors.
“I’m proud to represent the Center for College Access and Success as we expand the network of communities we serve,” Cortes said. “The question we all need to ask is: How can we be innovative in how we reach students?”
This is a particularly busy year for Cortes, who also will co-chair the from Nov. 15-18 in Grand Rapids, Mich. He will be joined by Luvia Moreno, Northeastern’s director of Undocumented Students Resources.
Finally, Cortes has been appointed by the to be the chair of the National STEM Communities of Practice and a committee memeber of the International Opportunities Community of Practice.
