The Daniel L. Goodwin College of Education contributes to the teaching landscape of Chicago by preparing graduates for equity-minded and exemplary professional practice. Our roots trace back to the first teacher education institution in Chicago, founded in 1867, and today we have one of the most diverse student populations in Illinois.

The Goodwin College of Education offers nine undergraduate and 21 graduate degree programs, as well as several graduate certificate programs. Program completers are prepared to embrace the diverse ways in which people live, learn, and work and to integrate this knowledge with other key concepts essential to career success in counseling, teaching, leadership and health professions. 

The College strives for excellence in all endeavors. Educator licensure programs are accredited by the  (CAEP) and counseling programs have specialized accreditation through the  (CACREP). Grants, clinics and partnership projects extend the impact and reach of the College and provide opportunities for innovative research and learning.
