Official Transcripts

Northeastern has contracted with Parchment for electronic ordering of official transcripts, sending electronic PDF transcripts on behalf of Northeastern, and responding to transcript inquiries. Note: a PDF transcript is an official transcript and contains identical information as the paper transcript.

Ordering Your Official Transcript: Current/Recent Students
Current students, along with former students and alumni who attended Northeastern within the past 18 months, should request an official transcript by logging in to . Choose the Current Student tab, and click on the “Transcript” link in the Academic Profile channel. 

Ordering Your Official Transcript: Alumni and Former Students
Alumni and former students who do not have access to NEIUport should visit . Requests may require a signature page before your transcript request will be processed. Follow the instructions when ordering.

Electronic Transcript

Electronic transcripts can be ordered 24 hours a day, seven days a week. If no transcript holds exist on your account, your electronic transcript request can be sent electronically within a matter of hours. Additionally, you can track your order while it’s being processed and you will receive a confirmation email when the transcript order is complete.    

Notes:
1) Goodwin College of Education students: the Illinois State Board of Education (IBSE) prefers to receive your transcript electronically.

2) Some students may not be eligible for the electronic transcript option (see FAQ below). You will be directed appropriately during the ordering process.

Paper Transcript

Paper transcripts can be ordered 24 hours a day, seven days a week, however, your transcript request may take 2-3 days to be processed (excluding weekends and holidays) and additional time should be factored in for the transcript to be delivered by the U.S. Postal Service.

FAQ

  • If you do not have a credit or debit card, you can purchase a prepaid card at many convenience or grocery stores. You also can pay with cash by coming in person to Enrollment Services in Room D 101 on the Main Campus.
  • All obligations that prevent the release of a transcript must be resolved before the request will be processed.
  • Transcript requests not made through NEIUport may require the student’s written signature (i.e. the signature page) before the request will be processed.
  • Any in-progress coursework for which you are registered will automatically be included on the transcript.
  • Northeastern only releases official transcripts. Current or former students whose access to NEIUport is active may view or print their own unofficial transcript.
  • Northeastern releases your entire academic transcript. Requests to only release one semester or, for example, only your undergraduate transcript cannot be honored.
  • Although requests to send a transcript showing semester grades can be submitted once the semester begins, grades will not be available until two days after the official end of the semester. Therefore, requests to “hold for the posting of grades” will not be processed until after the semester has ended.
  • Requests to “hold for the posting of degrees” will be processed approximately eight weeks after the official end of the semester.
  • If you either attended Northeastern prior to Fall 1976 or you graduated from the University Without Walls (UWW) program, we are currently not able to send your transcript as a PDF.  Additionally, the PDF option is not available to some Board of Governors (BOG) students.
