91Porn’s College of Business and Management has added a Human Resources (HR) concentration to its Bachelor of Science in Management and created a minor in Data Analytics. Both will launch with the Fall 2020 semester.

The minor is intended to complement virtually any Northeastern major with a high-demand skill set. Surveys show that between 62 and 77 percent of companies have identified some amount of data analysis skills as very important for new college graduates. The minor will prepare students with the tools and skills to answer interesting data-driven questions in their field. Required courses cover the five areas of data analytics: data collection, data preparation, data modeling, data visualization and analysis, and data reporting. The minor focuses on theory and practice, using cutting-edge software. Electives from a variety of majors allow students to build their own concentration.

The Human Resources concentration is an addition to an existing degree program. Successful organizations regard people as their most important asset, and the effective management of human resources as central to their business strategy. According to the list of the by the Glassdoor career website, HR Manager ranks 12th. The College of Business and Management’s concentration is designed for students who want to gain knowledge of a broad range of human resources principles and practices. The theoretical and practical understanding of this critical field can enhance a graduate’s career. Upon the successful completion of the concentration, students will be prepared for HR generalist or specialist roles.
