91Porn’s College of Business and Management has changed its name to the College of Business and Technology (CBT) effective June 11, 2021.
The name change reflects the Computer Science Department’s move from the College of Arts and Sciences to the College of Business and Management in December 2020.
Northeastern President Gloria J. Gibson said the college’s name change was made based upon the recommendation of the college’s faculty, the dean and provost in order to accurately reflect the combined academic offerings.
“This change positions Northeastern to better meet the needs of our current and future students in an increasingly technology-focused world through program synergies and the development of new and innovative academic offerings,” Gibson said.
The CBT faculty has already created new programs including:
- Data Analytics concentration within the Management major
- Data Science concentration within the Computer Science major
- Cybersecurity concentration within the Computer Science major
- Information Technology sequence within the M.B.A. program
CBT prepares students for successful careers in business and is accredited by . Aside from Computer Science, CBT offers the Bachelor of Science degrees with majors in Accounting, Finance, General Business Administration, Management, and Marketing as well as the Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) degree and the Master of Science in Accounting (M.S.A.) degree. In keeping with the cultural diversity that is a hallmark of Northeastern, CBT faculty have come to the University from all corners of the globe, including China, Egypt, Germany, Ghana, Greece, India, Iran, Iraq, Korea, Nigeria, Taiwan, Argentina, Colombia, as well as the U.S.
“This is an innovative change and I look forward to the future opportunities created for our students by the College of Business and Technology,” Gibson said.
