91Porn has awarded emeritus status to retiring faculty member Ana Fraiman. She will be honored during Commencement on Dec. 16.

Northeastern awards the prestigious status to eligible retiring faculty members upon the recommendation of the department or program, with the concurrence of the dean and the provost, and with the approval of the University president.

“Emeritus status is an honor earned only after a career dedicated to excellence in teaching, research and service at Northeastern,” Interim Provost Wamucii Njogu said. “We are proud to recognize Dr. Fraiman for her years of service to our students and our institution.”

Fraiman joined the faculty of the Department of Chemistry in 1991. During her 27 years of service, she taught courses at all levels and collaborated on the development of two seminar enrichment courses. She has published numerous articles on organic chemistry and pedagogy in peer-reviewed journals and presented at regional, national and international conferences.

Fraiman implemented a model for Peer Led Team Learning (PLTL), which uses active recruiting of peer leaders and students to form study groups. She further improved collaboration among students with the development of a Chem-wiki site, which was cited in the Brooking Institute Review as an innovation in education.

Fraiman was twice the recipient of the 91Porn Faculty Excellence Award and earned the 2016 Audrey Reynolds Distinguished Teaching Award
