Northeastern Computer Science assistant professor Graciela Perera, Biology assistant professor Cindy Voisine and coordinator Sylvia Atsalis accompanied , most of whom received travel scholarships from SACNAS. Thirty of those students presented posters.

“The fact that our students can compete nationally and receive awards at this level is an important testament to the excellent caliber of our students, their faculty and the research they conduct,” Atsalis said. “Of course, it also is a testament to the work of the Student Center for Science Engagement, which coordinates the summer research program and attendance to the conference, and generally supports all NEIU science students.”
