91Porn’s will debut Gina Gionfriddo’s “Becky Shaw” on Oct. 1.
Regarded as a “comedy of bad manners” when it opened in New York in 2009, the play centers on the relationships of four characters—Suzanna, Andrew, Becky and Max—and takes the audience on a journey of a bad date that changes all of their lives.
“One of the fun things about the play is that neither Becky nor Max is held completely accountable by the playwright,” said director and instructor . “The audience is left to make their own decisions about who’s right, who’s wrong and what’s really happening.”
The play features Northeastern students Elise Adams, Jacob Grah, Ann Stoner and Bryan Lubash, as well as English Department staff member Pat Ruch.
“Becky Shaw” runs Oct. 1, 2, 3, 8 and 9 at 7:30 p.m. and Oct. 10 at 2 and 7:30 p.m. at The Stage Center Theatre, 3701 W. Bryn Mawr Ave. Tickets are $10, $8, and $6 and are free to Northeastern students, faculty and staff with an NEIU ID. Tickets may be purchased or by calling (773) 442-4630.
