Student Disability Services (SDS) is committed to fostering inclusion and full participation of students with disabilities in all aspects of their University experience.

Support for students with disabilities

SDS supports students by facilitating the provisions of reasonable accommodations as determined by the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973. SDS will seek to go beyond compliance through education, advocacy, and strong partnerships with NEIU faculty and staff.

Steps to start the request for accommodations

To apply for services, students must self-identify a disability by submitting documentation based upon diagnosed need from appropriate professionals.

Please use the menu on the left and go to  to navigate through our pages and learn more about our services.

Once you complete and submit your request for accommodations and your supporting documentation, an SDS specialist will get in touch with you by email within 10 business days (not including weekends and holidays) to schedule an appointment to discuss your application for accommodations.
