The Keep Learning site is here to help support Northeastern students throughout the COVID-19 pandemic. This site's goal is to help our students continue to learn and successfully complete their courses.

Key Things to Know

  1. Northeastern courses are held in three formats: in person, online or hybrid (meaning some classes are in person, some are online). Throughout the term, prioritize your health, and care for your physical and mental well-being.
  2. Stay engaged with your courses, and communicate with your instructors regularly. They should be your first point of contact should you have any questions about your course.
  3. Familiarize yourself with key tools such as and , and make sure you can access these resources on the devices available to you in your current location.

Know your context

Your health and safety should be your top priority. Take a moment to check in with yourself and be mindful of your physical and emotional health. Take proper precautions and seek care if you are ill. Don't forget to consider your emotional well-being. Make sure you have the technology you need to access your courses and a stable internet connection, especially if you are taking online or hybrid courses. Communicate any needs or limitations to your instructor as soon as you can. Our faculty and staff are supportive and want to work with you to ensure you have what you need to have a successful semester. If you need assistance, you will likely find that you and your instructor can come up with solution to help you complete your coursework.

Know your classes

Organize your daily schedule so you are able to dedicate time for each of your classes. You should be prepared to attend classes or office hours with your instructor, as necessary. Check , your syllabus and your daily for details from your instructors on upcoming assignments and other course expectations.

Know your tools

Locate the tools you need to access your courses. Familiarize yourself with and , and make sure you can access these resources on your devices—preferably a laptop, tablet or desktop computer. Your phone will work for checking email and D2L, but it should not be your main device for accessing your courses. If you are concerned that you may not have the technology or internet access you need to participate in your classes, communicate directly with your instructor to work out an action plan.

I Need Help to Keep Learning

What should I do if I don't have reliable internet access?

Students are encouraged to contact their instructors if there are things in D2L that they do not know how to do. Students can also access tutorials and help with basic D2L functions on the CTL’s and .

What if my instructor wants me to use a technology that I do not have access to such as Microsoft Word or a webcam?
