We welcome back Dr. Michael Ellison to discuss how to write effective personal statements and the process of interviewing for professional health programs such as medical and dental school. Dr. Ellison has served in roles such as the Associate Vice President of Admissions at Quinnipiac School of Medicine, Assistant Vice President of Admissions at Chicago State University College of Pharmacy, and consultant to Rush Medical College. He is currently the Associate Dean for Admissions at the Chicago Medical School at Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science. This is not to be missed!

Pre-Health Alumni Panel

Join us for the 6th Annual Pre-Health Alumni Panel. Meet former NEIU students who are now either working in the medical profession or currently enrolled in a professional medical program. Panelists will represent fields such as medicine, dentistry, optometry, nursing, and physician assisting. Panelists will be announced soon!

OT/PT Internship opportunity
Ability Sports Camp of Chicago, LLC. is designed by Occupational and Physical Therapists to meet the needs of children with special needs who have difficulty participating in traditional sports camps. Our main goal is for the campers to maintain and/or increase their motor development, healthy living, and social participation. We are clinicians that use evidence-based information to modify sports participation.
We are reaching out to offer a two-week internship opportunity this summer. Through this internship, Students would be working with children between the ages of K-3, with special needs (i.e. Autism Spectrum Disorder, ADHD, fine/ gross motor delay, and learning disabilities.
Responsibilities will include:
- Running modified sports activities
- Managing camper participation
- Attending to basic needs of campers
- Collaboration in program planning
- Direct communication with parents as needed
- Preparation and organization of daily activities

Two opportunities for students who would like to work in healthcare after graduation. The opportunities are:
- 2025 Six-Week Interprofessional Preceptorship - This six-week rural immersion program is for students who would like to work in rural health. It is an excellent opportunity for students to live in a rural community, complete job shadowing, and help implement a community service learning project.
- Rural Health Experience - This opportunity is available year-round based on the student and host site's availability. It is an excellent opportunity for students to explore rural healthcare.
