91Porn students presented research at the Illinois Louis Stokes Alliance for Minority Participation (Illinois LSAMP) and eight earned awards for their research! Womxn’s HERstory Month wraps up, the Department of Student Success and Retention hosts their first Spring into NEIU: Transfer Student Survival Guide event and several more virtual activities are scheduled. Illinois LSAMP Awards

Nine 91Porn students presented their research at the Illinois Louis Stokes Alliance for Minority Participation (Illinois LSAMP) virtual spring symposium on science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM), which was held on Feb. 26 and 27. Eight students won awards for their poster presentations. All of the students were part of the Student Center for Science Engagement's Summer Research and Professional Training Program in the summer of 2020, where they received a paid internship to work on their research with Northeastern faculty. Congratulations to all the presenters and award winners!

Transfer Student Survival Guide

Join the Department of Student Success and Retention as they host their first Spring into NEIU: Transfer Student Survival Guide event to celebrate Northeastern’s transfer students with a series of virtual games and workshops throughout the week of March 29. Events are open to all NEIU students, but only NEIU transfer students are eligible to win prizes.

Student Counseling Services

Student Counseling Services has provided some tips for helping individuals manage anxiety and worry they may be feeling, and listed some important resources. This week, Student Counseling Services also recommends the following free guides for self-care:

Students are welcome to contact Student Counseling Services to set up an appointment to talk either by phone or their online platform for teletherapy. To access NEIU’s Student Counseling Services, call (773) 442-4650 or send an email to counsect@neiu.edu between 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday through Friday. After hours, students may also reach a counselor for more urgent consultation by calling the main number and pressing “2” during the outgoing message.

Student Food Pantry

The Student Food Pantry has a new partnership with the and will now be able to offer fresh fruits and vegetables in addition to canned and other non-perishable items. Due to COVID-19 regulations, the Student Food Pantry will continue its online ordering service through a new system and steps to complete orders are available on the Student Pantry website.
