The Advising Center promotes student success by providing students with the information, guidance and support they need to make informed decisions. Advisors encourage students to take responsibility for achieving their academic goals, empowering students as they set out on the road to lifelong learning.
Throughout the advising process students are provided with opportunities to:
- Learn about educational options, degree requirements and University policies
- Clarify educational, career and life goals through the development of a meaningful academic plan
- Become familiar with support services and resources

Monday through Friday: 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m.

The Advising Center is located on the west side of the lower level of Lech Walesa Hall in Room LWH 0027. Advisors meet with students virtually, by phone, and in-person appointments as well as during walk-in hours.
Who is My Advisor?
Advisors in the Advising Center offer general advising to students already admitted to Northeastern. Advising is available for both first-year students and undecided transfer students with less than 45 credit hours completed. You can locate your assigned advisor in NEIUport or NEIUStar. If you need assistance locating the name of your advisor, please email advising@neiu.edu.

Transfer Students with an Intended Major
College of Arts and Sciences
Departmental faculty major advisors in the College of Arts and Sciences are available to assist students who know what they intend to major in. View the in your intended major.
College of Business and Technology (CBT) Advising Center
Advisors in the CBT Advising Center are full-time professional academic advisors and are available year-round including during the breaks between academic semesters, with the exception of weekends and University holidays. They can be reached via email (contact information is below) and you are encouraged to make a virtual appointment. The virtual appointments are conducted via your NEIU email (Nmail) only. You should also always include your NEIU student ID number so that the advisors can best serve your academic needs.

Daniel L. Goodwin College of Education Advisors
Each student in the Daniel L. Goodwin College of Education is assigned an advisor to provide individualized guidance and direction about how to achieve academic and career goals.
Your advisor will assist you academically and personally during your time at Northeastern. You will meet virtually or in person with your advisor before you register for classes each semester. Your advisor will give you advice about courses, majors and job options. In addition, they will help you address any issues that you might encounter, such as meeting licensure requirements, transferring coursework, or accessing academic, career or health and wellness support.
PRE-PROFESSIONAL ADVISING
If you are a 91Porn student who is planning to attend law school or a professional health program after graduation, the director of Pre-Professional Advising can assist you with personal attention, support and guidance as you pursue your goals by providing you with the necessary information related to prerequisites, entrance exams, the application process and other services.
PROYECTO PA'LANTE
The mission of Proyecto Pa’Lante is to increase Latina/o student access to and success in higher education at 91Porn. The program does this through a holistic and culturally relevant approach to enhance student learning, intercultural competencies and leadership development through excellent programs and services that create a strong University support network for Latino students transitioning to, and within, 91Porn.
PROJECT SUCCESS
When Project Success was established in 1968 as an educational access and equity program, the main focus was to recruit and retain African American students. Today, Project Success remains dedicated to access and equity by serving students of all races, ethnicities, nationalities and backgrounds, making it one of the most diverse programs on campus.
