Art + Design Merit Scholarship for Tuition Waiver
About
The Art + Design Merit Scholarship is open to all declared majors in Art (Studio and Art History) and Graphic Design. Awarded based on skill and proficiency rather than financial need, this scholarship celebrates outstanding student work within the Art + Design department. Recipients are selected through a portfolio review by a faculty panel and may receive scholarship toward their tuition, and are showcased in the biannual Art + Design Scholarship Exhibition.
Deadlines
Application for tuition waiver in Fall: April 1, 11:59 p.m. CST
Application for tuition waiver in Spring: November 1, 11:59 p.m. CST
You must submit both the application and your work following the guidelines below to be eligible for the scholarship. The application form has been updated this year. Please follow the carefully.
Slideshow guidelines: Google Slide presentations should be made using standard (3:4) format with a black background and white text (11-14 point font). Shrinking your image resolution prior to inserting into PowerPoint will make the slideshow load faster.
Applications are to be submitted via Google Drive no later than 11:59 p.m. Late applications will not be accepted.
- Go to File > Share >
- Enter the art@neiu.edu email > select Can Edit from the right tab next to the email input.
- Be sure to name your Google Slides in the upper right corner input field with your ID number; for example 123456 Scholarship Slideshow.
