Who We Are
The GHRAD Center consists of a group of concerned faculty and students supported by a larger community of friends, together promoting awareness and acting toward the prevention of genocide and other crimes against humanity in Africa.
The GHRAD Center is a member of the . The Consortium provides a formal network of diverse academic centers dedicated to advancing public and scholarly research and education on the Holocaust, genocide, and human rights. It advocates on behalf of these centers in terms of individual support and legitimacy within host academic institutions, also concerning the content relevance at local, regional, national, and international levels.
What We Do
The GHRAD Center aims to:
- Organize courses and workshops and offer fellowships for students and scholars
- Develop curricula and pedagogies for teachers
- Organize bi-monthly discussions of relevant books, articles, and documentaries
- Hold yearly conferences/symposia
- Organize student-centered activism and debates on social justice and human rights issues
- Collaborate with leading organizations and institutions interested in understanding and stopping crimes against humanity
- Advocate for public policies to prevent future atrocities
