Show the world how Golden Eagles soar ...
Northeastern undergraduate and graduate students presenting their original work and research at academic conferences can apply for an NEIU Foundation Student Research Travel Award. These awards are made possible by private contributions to the NEIU Leader Fund, and provide funding for major travel expenses such as airfare and hotels/lodging. All Northeastern students are eligible to apply.
Funding is limited, and the selection process is highly competitive.
Every July, the NEIU Foundation Board of Directors makes $10,000 available to fund these important awards. Applications are submitted to the Office of Institutional Advancement by the specific annual deadlines listed below and are processed quarterly based on travel dates. Awards are available in amounts up to $600 for domestic travel and up to $1,000 for international travel. The Office of the Provost reviews the applications and approves the awards.
Completed applications must be submitted to the Division of Institutional Advancement by the application deadlines in order to be considered for funding. Late applications will not be considered.
Important to note:
- Funds awarded may not be used for local transit, rental car, food, drink or entertainment, including conference-related activities and events.
- Only one award is available per conference; multiple students attending the same conference or presenting together must share the award.
- Alumni and students at-large are not eligible.
Applications are accepted quarterly based on travel date
