In honor of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and his commitment to diversity, inclusion and serving our community, while maintaining COVID-19 guidelines, members of the Northeastern community, in collaboration with Student Leadership Development, volunteered to record themselves reading culturally diverse children's books. Our hope is that our children can hear stories that they see themselves in or opens their minds to new cultures.
We invite you to share these videos with your family and friends. If you loved any of these books, we encourage you to support the authors by purchasing your own copy of these wonderful stories. The books that Student Leadership Development purchased for this initiative will be donated to either the NEIU Child Care Center or the NEIU Library.
Please enjoy these recordings as our way of celebrating Dr. King's life and legacy as well as honoring his vision of a beloved community.
